Callum Wilson is considering his position at West Ham, who have splashed out on two new strikers.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo said: ‘Callum is a very experienced man. He’s been in the game for so much time. He knows his position has changed, so we were honest with each other.
‘But he’s still a player for the club and we still maybe need him and he should help us.
‘If things go, I don’t know where, or what happens, that goes beyond my decision-making, then we can speak about that.
‘But until that situation, me and Callum, we have been very honest about each other and the way we communicate.
‘Maybe some time, we will address this issue again, but it’s not right at the moment.’

Wilson joined the club just five months ago on a free transfer after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season.
He has at times found game time hard to come by under Nuno, and the Hammers have now spent big on two strikers in their bid to boost their survival chances this season.
While Brazilian forward Pablo has arrived from Gil Vicente, Taty Castellanos has also joined from Lazio, which will only push Wilson down the pecking order at the London Stadium.
The Hammers splashed out around £47million on the two forwards in a desperate bid to boost their survival hopes, with Nuno’s men 18th in the standings and four points adrift of Nottingham Forest, who they play this week, in 17th.
Wilson has played 18 times for the Hammers so far this season, scoring four goals for the club.
