West Brom ‘have identified former Man United coach Eric Ramsay’, 33, as a candidate to take over as manager.
Ryan Mason was sacked as Baggies boss earlier this week with the club languishing down in 18th in the Championship table.
The club hierarchy pulled the trigger on axing their young manager following a 10th consecutive defeat on the road and they are currently seven points above the relegation zone.
Ramsay is regarded as another promising young managerial prospect having guided MLS side Minnesota United to back-to-back- Conference play-off semi-finals and West Brom are interested, according to the BBC.
He cut his teeth as a coach at Man United as a first team coach under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag before moving to an assistant role with Wales.
Ramsay had previously been on West Brom’s radar when they were considering who to appoint in the summer before opting to give the job to Mason.

Ramsey was a player in the Welsh Premier League before opting to quit and pursue a career in coaching.
He worked in the academies of Swansea, Chelsea and Shrewsbury, gaining experience before roles at senior level for Man United and Wales.
Ramsey has been in charge of Minnesota United since last year and his style of play is considered transitional with a focus on counter attacks rather than possession football.
The new MLS season begins next month so West Brom will understand the urgency of the situation they face, while some fans may be concerned about giving the job to another young manager still relatively fresh to the dugout.
Mason lasted seven months in charge and on Tuesday a club statement read: ‘West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with men’s first team Head Coach Ryan Mason.
‘Assistant Head Coach Nigel Gibbs and First Team Coach/Head of Performance Sam Pooley have also departed The Hawthorns.
‘The club would like to place on record its thanks to Ryan, Nigel and Sam for their efforts and wishes all three the very best for the future.
‘First Team Coach James Morrison will oversee first-team affairs on an interim basis until a new staff is appointed.
‘The process of recruiting a new men’s first team Head Coach and staff is under way.’
