Former Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed that he wants to see bitter rivals Liverpool win the Premier League again this season.
The former England skipper, who is now back at Chelsea working with the academy was giving his opinion on the title race for the 2025/26 season when he made the admission on talkSPORT on Friday morning.
Despite his 19 years spent at Chelsea, Terry claimed that the Reds’ large transfer summer spree meant that Premier League title ‘was theirs to lose’.
He also revealed why he would like to see the Merseyside club lift the trophy.
‘I think they have a big motivation with the very sad loss of Diogo Jota in the back of their minds as well, ‘ said Terry. ‘I really hope Liverpool do it for that reason alone. I think they’re the strongest side’.
Terry also said that he did not want to pile unrealistic expectations on the young squad at Stamford Bridge, adding: ‘I’m not sure Chelsea have enough experience within their squad to push them and also I don’t want to put the pressure on the Chelsea squad.’

Terry also spoke about why he didn’t think Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City would be challenging this season.
‘I think Man City have shown vulnerability again this season’, said Terry, referring to their leaky defence which has seen them concede four goals in their last two league games, which they lost to Spurs and Brighton.
