Graham Potter has signed a four-year contract extension as Sweden head coach, keeping him in post until 2030 despite the Englishman failing to record a win during his time in charge.
The former Chelsea boss was appointed on a short-term basis last October weeks after being sacked by West Ham, with the Swedish FA saying at the time that his contract was tied to Sweden’s World Cup qualification.
Potter has overseen just two games in charge, with neither resulting in victory. His first, against Switzerland, ended in a heavy 4-1 defeat, and a 1-1 draw with Slovenia followed.
Now three weeks before Sweden are set to play Ukraine in their first play-off match for the World Cup, Potter has been handed a new lengthy contract.
