Sam Kerr took to Instagram on Thursday to publish a picture of herself ringing in the new year after she tied the knot with Kristie Mewis during a lavish ceremony on New Year’s Eve.
Kerr and Mewis tied the knot at the stunning Dionysus Villa in her hometown of Perth, with the Matildas star donning a black tuxedo with a white boutonniere.
Her wife, Kristie, stunned in a beautiful white outfit that featured a corset that was overlaid with a transparent gown that featured slivers of glitter running down the length of the dress.
The couple were married in front of around 100 people at the Swan Valley venue, with a crowd of Kerr’s Matildas team-mates arriving to celebrate with the happy couple.
On Thursday, Kerr took to Instagram to publish a snap of herself celebrating with friends after the wedding.
Kerr reposted a snap on her story showing her celebrating the new year in front of a giant 2026 sign.

Later, Kerr also published a snap of Matilda Bay in Perth, showcasing what appeared to be her and Mewis’ room from the Crown Towers

Kerr had stayed at Crown Towers in Perth prior to the wedding on Wednesday and was pictured leaving the hotel with her dad Roger before she headed to the ceremony.
The Matildas skipper published another snap on her Instagram story on New Year’s Day, from what appeared to be the balcony of her and Mewis’ room at Crown Towers.
She showed off a stunning view of Matilda Bay and the Swan River, as well as the hotel’s swimming pool.
Kerr and Mewis met back in 2019, with the Chelsea striker having revealed earlier this year that her partner, a former West Ham United and US National side midfielder, had ‘slid into her DMs’.
The couple announced their relationship in 2021, after the Tokyo Olympics and would get engaged in 2023.
They also became parents earlier this year, with Mewis giving birth to their son, Jagger, in May.
Kerr carried Jagger down the aisle on New Year’s Eve, a moment that Mewis had predicted would make her cry.

‘That is going to be gut-wrenching for me, I will sob when that happens,’ Kristie had told the Mewis Squared podcast in the days preceding the wedding.
Kerr had been seen handing her baby boy over to her dad so that she could recite her wedding vows.
She held Mewis’ hand and smiled as the happy couple said ‘I do’. Mewis was also seen touching Kerr’s arm as they locked eyes in what was a sign of affection.
